World renowned jazz vocalist and bassist, Trevor Donjeany, will be performing live on Sunday, at Suncoast’s popular monthly local musical showcase, Sunday Beats, from 2pm on Sunday the 30th October!
Durban-born Donjeany began his professional career in music in 1980, by playing in dance bands as well as with the Philharmonic and National Symphony Orchestras. Those first performances coincided with his enrolment and study at the Chatsworth-based Denny Veeran Academy of Music. He later taught bass guitar at the then University of Natal and University of Westville Durban.
His expertise and passion for the bass guitar has gained him a formidable reputation internationally as a world-class bassist that has seen him perform with American jazz aficionados, such as Della Reese, Richie Cole, Rene McLean and Darius Brubeck, just to name a few.
Donjeany’s status as a top bassist has seen him performing all around the world, including countries such as, Dubai, Hong Kong, Switzerland, England, Germany, Italy, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and South America.
